Teachers Turned Tutors ยท Last updated October 28, 2026
This policy explains what information Teachers Turned Tutors collects, why we collect it, and what we do with it. If anything here is unclear, email us at klawrey@teachersturnedtutors.com and a real person will answer.
Who we are
Teachers Turned Tutors is a virtual tutoring company that pairs students in grades 6 through 12 with experienced teachers for one-on-one support. This policy covers our website at teachersturnedtutors.com, our Facebook and Instagram ads, our emails, and our scheduling and tutoring services.
What we collect
We collect only what we need to help your family.
When you sign up for a free guide or join our waitlist: your first name, your email address, your child's grade level, and any answer you choose to give about what you are trying to figure out. We receive this information through a form on Facebook or Instagram, or through our website.
When you contact us: your name, email address, phone number if you share it, and the content of your message.
When you book or take sessions: your name and contact details, your student's name and grade, scheduling information through Calendly, session notes about what was worked on, and billing information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card number on our systems.
When you visit our website or see our ads: standard technical information such as your browser type, device, and which pages you visited. When you reach us through a Facebook or Instagram ad, Meta may use cookies and similar tools to measure that ad's performance.
How we use it
- To send you the free guide, the checklist, or other materials you asked for
- To tell you when the full playbook opens, and to share occasional resources we think are useful to parents
- To answer your questions and set up tutoring sessions
- To match your student with the right teacher and plan their sessions
- To send session updates to parents and guardians
- To keep our own records, invoices, and business accounts
- To understand which of our ads and pages are actually helping families, so we can stop paying for the ones that are not
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run the business, and they only see what they need to do their job:
- **Meta (Facebook and Instagram)** for advertising and lead forms
- **Google** for email, calendar, and document storage
- **Stripe** for payment processing
- **QuickBooks** for accounting
- **Calendly** for scheduling
- **Base44** for hosting our internal tools and files
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.
Students and children
Our services are arranged with parents and guardians, and our website and advertising are written for adults. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13. When a parent arranges tutoring, we may hold information about the student, such as their grade, their school, and notes about what they worked on, because that is how tutoring works. Parents and guardians can ask to see, correct, or delete that information at any time.
How long we keep it
We keep lead and waitlist information until you ask us to remove it or unsubscribe. We keep tutoring and billing records for as long as we need them for our business and tax records.
Your choices
Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. You can also email klawrey@teachersturnedtutors.com at any time to:
- Ask what information we hold about you or your student
- Correct something that is wrong
- Ask us to delete your information
- Ask us to stop contacting you
We will respond within a reasonable time, and we will not make you jump through hoops to do it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update the date at the top and, if the change affects you, tell you by email.
